German defender of Senegalese descent, Malick Thiaw has turned down a move to Italian Serie A side Como.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan and Como had reached a basic agreement for the 23-year-old centre-back valued at €25 million.
However, the player has decided not to proceed with the move, leaving the newly promoted club in search of alternative options.
Thiaw’s decision is believed to be influenced by two key factors. First, the defender is said to be awaiting a potential offer from a club in his native Germany.
Second, he remains hopeful of convincing AC Milan’s new head coach, Max Allegri, and sporting director Igli Tare to keep him as part of the squad for the upcoming season.
With preseason preparations set to begin, Thiaw is expected to make a strong case for himself in training as he seeks to earn a place in Milan’s defensive plans.
Further checks have revealed that Thiaw is undecided about his future.
