Manchester United are growing increasingly confident in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s dynamic midfielder Felix Nmecha, with talks already underway for a potential summer move back to England.
The 24-year-old, who once came through Manchester City’s youth ranks, has given United reason to believe a deal could happen. Sources say the Red Devils are ready to table €40m for the German international, hoping to lure him to Old Trafford.
German outlet Bild reports that Dortmund are open to letting Nmecha go, though they’re holding out for a €50m starting fee. Still, optimism is brewing that the two clubs can strike a deal somewhere in the middle.
Nmecha, who’s toggled between England and Germany at youth international level, got his first senior call-up for Germany on 17 March 2023, facing Peru and Belgium.
This season, he’s featured in 19 Bundesliga matches, netting two goals and adding one assist. “He’s a talent with real potential,” a United insider said. If the transfer clicks, Nmecha could be the spark United’s midfield needs.
