German-Nigerian forward Lucas Nmecha yet to decide on next club after leaving VfL Wolfsburg

Germany-born forward of Nigerian descent, Lukas Nmecha, is yet to decide on his next club after opting to end his stay in Germany where he plays for VfL Wolfsburg.

Nmecha joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2021 from English Premier League side Manchester City for a reported fee of eight million euros.

He arrived as a promising young talent and even earned a call-up to the German national team. Unfortunately, a series of injuries derailed his momentum and limited his impact at the club.

Over the weekend, Lucas Nmecha spoke on his future after Wolfsburg’s 1-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

He noted that while there are some discussions ongoing on his next club, he does not want to give anything away.

“Now is not the moment to talk about it. What will happen will be made official soon. There’s no trend yet; we still need to discuss things a bit. We need clarity, and that’s what I’m waiting for,” Lukas Nmecha said.

It is understood that English side, Wolverhampton Wanderers, are in talks to sign Lukas Nmecha this summer.
