German club VfL Bochum sign Mali forward Ibrahim Sissoko

German side VfL Bochum have completed the signing of Malian international Ibrahim Sissoko.

The club announced the acquisition of the attacker on Monday, June 30, indicating that the experienced player joins on a free transfer.

“Familiar name, new player: VfL Bochum 1848 has secured the services of Ibrahim Sissoko. The 29-year-old center forward moves from AS St.-Étienne to the Castroper Straße on a free transfer,” the German club indicated in an official statement.

Speaking on the new signing, VfL Bochum Managing Director Dirk Dufner said, “Ibrahim Sissoko is a textbook center forward. His robust stature, coupled with his powerful dynamism and goal threat, will suit our style of play well. We are very pleased that he has chosen VfL.”

On his part, Ibrahim Sissoko expressed his delight and stated that he cannot wait to get started.

“I’m very happy to be here in Bochum and can’t wait to be on the pitch with my teammates. I’ve heard a lot about the atmosphere in the stadiums in Germany and I’m looking forward to experiencing it firsthand soon,” Ibrahim Sissoko said.
