German-Cameroonian defender Yann Bisseck emerges as Manchester United target in €60m move

Manchester United have set their sights on Inter Milan’s German-Cameroonian defender Yann Bisseck as they prepare for a significant reshaping of their backline in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old centre-back has reportedly attracted strong interest from the Premier League club, with United said to be weighing up a €60 million offer to lure him away from Serie A.

Bisseck has established himself as a dependable figure in Inter Milan’s defensive setup, making 34 appearances this season while contributing two goals and two assists.

United’s interest in Bisseck aligns with the club’s broader overhaul strategy under the guidance of newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese tactician is expected to bring his signature tactical blueprint to Old Trafford, and with it, a requirement for adaptable defenders capable of operating within a three-man defence.

Bisseck’s composure on the ball, tactical awareness, and aerial dominance appear to have made him a top priority in Amorim’s plans.

Despite recent investments in defenders such as Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, the Manchester United hierarchy remains keen to further bolster their options.

Injuries and inconsistent form have plagued United’s defence throughout the current campaign, prompting the club to act decisively in the market.

Bisseck’s profile fits the mould of what Amorim values: a defender with intelligence, positional discipline, and the ability to contribute to build-up play.

Having matured significantly in Serie A, the Inter defender is now being viewed as a player capable of transitioning seamlessly into the Premier League.

However, securing his signature may not be straightforward. Inter Milan are enjoying a strong season, competing at the top end of the Italian top flight and remaining active in the Champions League.

The club values Bisseck highly, and prising him away from a side with title ambitions will require both financial muscle and a compelling sporting project.

While Manchester United’s stature and the allure of the Premier League remain powerful selling points, convincing the player to leave a well-settled role at Inter may take more than just a lucrative offer.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest that Bisseck is yet to be fully convinced of the move, and his decision will likely hinge on the clarity of United’s project under Amorim, as well as the promise of regular football.

Bisseck, who holds dual German and Cameroonian nationality, joined Inter Milan from Danish side AGF and has quickly risen to prominence with his consistent displays.

His growth has not gone unnoticed, and with several European clubs monitoring his progress, Manchester United may face competition for his signature if negotiations are not swiftly concluded.

As the summer window approaches, United are expected to intensify their efforts, with defensive reinforcements seen as key to stabilising a squad aiming to re-enter European contention.

Bisseck, with his youth and growing pedigree, could be a central figure in Amorim’s vision of a rejuvenated Red Devils side.
