West Ham United are reportedly pursuing German-Cameroonian centre-back Yann Aurel Bisseck as they aim to reinforce their defensive ranks ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Inter Milan, appearing in 44 matches across all competitions and contributing three goals and three assists.
His performances earned him a debut call-up to the German national team in March for a fixture against Italy, solidifying his rising status in European football.
Though Bisseck is contracted to Inter until 2029, interest from the Premier League continues to grow. West Ham—who had already expressed interest last summer—are now expected to revive their pursuit. According to reports, Inter could be open to a transfer should a suitable offer be tabled.
Bisseck, born in Germany to Cameroonian parents, has been praised for his composure on the ball, physicality in duels, and versatility in defensive systems.
Since joining Inter Milan from Danish side Aarhus in 2023, he has become a key figure under manager Simone Inzaghi, playing a part in the club’s Serie A title-winning season and making valuable contributions in the UEFA Champions League.
His ability to perform consistently against top European sides has not gone unnoticed. With Tottenham, Aston Villa, and other English clubs also reportedly monitoring his situation, West Ham’s renewed interest could be part of a wider battle for the young defender’s signature.
Manager David Moyes is believed to be targeting defensive reinforcements after a challenging domestic campaign.
Bisseck’s athleticism and tactical intelligence make him a strong candidate to slot into various formations, whether in a back three or a traditional centre-back pairing.
Despite his youth, Bisseck has accumulated significant experience across different leagues—including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and now Italy.
This adaptability is seen as a major asset by clubs outside Serie A, particularly in the Premier League, where physical demands and tactical variation are high.
While Inter Milan are in a stable financial position and under no obligation to sell, a reported valuation of €40–50 million could tempt them to negotiate, especially if Bisseck himself is open to a new challenge. West Ham, meanwhile, will need to act decisively if they hope to outpace competitors.
For now, Bisseck remains focused on his role with Inter, but his dual German-Cameroonian heritage and international exposure add to his appeal as a player who could thrive in multiple football cultures.
As the summer transfer window nears, his future will be one of the key stories to watch across Europe.
