Cameroonian defender Sacha Boey’s Bayern Munich future in doubt amid squad competition

Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are set to pursue the signing of France defender of Cameroonian descent, Sacha Boey.

The Turkish champions will formally establish contact with Bayern Munich for the defender once a deal to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is completed.

Boey, 24, who previously played for Galatasaray, has long been linked with a return to the club, and the Istanbul-based side is said to be ready to invest significantly to secure his services.

According to Bild’s chief reporter Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich would not block Boey’s departure if an acceptable offer arrives. Despite Galatasaray’s persistent efforts to bring him back, the 23-year-old has so far remained committed to fighting for his place at the Bundesliga club.

Boey joined Bayern Munich in January 2024 for a reported €30 million fee. Since then, he has made 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and assisting three goals.

However, with his performances falling short of expectations, a transfer away from Munich now appears increasingly probable.
