Galatasaray is eager to bring back their former star right-back Sacha Boey, eyeing a loan move in summer 2025 after Bayern Munich rebuffed a similar approach in January.
The Turkish giants, still buzzing from Boey’s stellar stint with them, see him as a key piece to bolster their squad. In January 2024, Bayern shelled out 30 million euros to sign Boey from Galatasaray. But the move hasn’t clicked. Injuries have plagued the Frenchman, and even when fit, he’s struggled to shine in the Bundesliga.
According to Ran.de, Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund vetoed a January loan return, banking on Boey despite the rocky start. Boey, too, was determined to prove himself in Munich.
According to the source, no can explain Galatasaray Boey’s slump in the Bundesliga since he was one of the best players in the Turkish top club and almost never injured.
Galatasaray is still convinced of Boey’s qualities and could take another attempt to hire him in summer.
