Galatasaray identify Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki as January transfer target

Galatasaray are preparing for the January transfer window and are considering a renewed move for Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki, according to Fotomac.

The Istanbul club want to strengthen their midfield and have placed the 21-year-old Democratic Republic of the Congo international on their shortlist. Sadiki joined Sunderland from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2025 and is now playing in the Premier League.

Sadiki’s versatility is understood to be a major attraction for Galatasaray. He can operate either as a defensive midfielder or in a more advanced central midfield role, while his ability to win possession, cover ground and help his side build from the back fits the requirements of Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk.

The Turkish club are reportedly planning to travel to England in January to progress discussions over a potential deal. Sadiki’s age could also work in Galatasaray’s favour, as he is under 23 and therefore meets the club’s recruitment criteria.

Sunderland signed Sadiki from Union Saint-Gilloise for about 17 million euros in 2025. Fotomac reports that the English club would now expect a fee above that figure, with the player’s contract running until 2030.

That long-term agreement puts Sunderland in a strong position should negotiations take place. Sadiki is valued at 35 million euros by Transfermarkt, while his annual income in England is reported to be 2,412,490 euros, equivalent to 1,568,118,500 FCFA.

Sebastien Desabre, the Democratic Republic of the Congo manager, has previously said: “In three months at Sunderland, Sadiki has taken a step up.”

Sadiki’s performances since moving to England have therefore attracted attention from Galatasaray as they assess options for the second half of the season. The Turkish side are expected to decide whether to make a formal approach during the winter window.
