Didier Drogba’s potential return to Olympique de Marseille or Chelsea, as well as a move to Major League Soccer (MLS), has been a recurring rumor. In a recent interview with Surface magazine, the Galatasaray striker addressed these speculations, acknowledging the interest from José Mourinho, his former manager at Chelsea.
According to the Daily Mirror, Mourinho has expressed interest in bringing Drogba back to Chelsea and has instructed his managers to explore the possibility. However, Drogba emphasized that he is currently focused on his club and prefers not to engage in controversy or speculation.
While acknowledging his strong bond with Mourinho, Drogba stressed that the most important factor for the Portuguese manager is a player’s performance on the pitch. Despite their friendly relationship, Mourinho’s priority is always the player’s contribution on the field.
As the end of his contract with Galatasaray approaches, Drogba has not ruled out a move to the United States, where several MLS clubs have shown interest. However, he remains focused on his current commitments and believes that his performance in the coming months will influence his future decisions.
