According to information from L’Equipe, there are indications that Didier Drogba may leave Turkey for Serie A, with AS Roma showing interest in the Ivorian striker from Galatasaray ahead of the summer transfer window.
AS Roma, managed by Rudi Garcia, reportedly made inquiries into Drogba’s situation and intentions for the future by approaching his entourage. This move is aimed at bolstering the club’s attacking options.
Drogba, nearing the end of his contract with Galatasaray, is available on a free transfer, making him an attractive option for potential suitors. His performances in the Champions League this season, particularly against Juventus Turin in the group stage, have showcased his European-level abilities and garnered attention from top Italian clubs.
While there were rumors of a concrete offer from Juventus last week, sources close to the matter suggest that Juve has not made any serious moves towards Drogba recently. However, Juventus has long admired Drogba’s qualities, and there were previous attempts to sign him in January 2013 when he left Shanghai.
It remains to be seen whether Drogba will extend his contract with Galatasaray or make a move to Serie A.
