Galatasaray consider move for FC Sion’s in-form Boteli
Switzerland and DR Congo forward Winsley Boteli is being linked with a move from FC Sion to Galatasaray, with the Turkish club considering a deal for the 20-year-old centre-forward.
Boteli has made a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign, scoring seven goals in six Conference League qualifying appearances and adding three goals and one assist in four Swiss Super League matches. He has started every European qualifier and has been involved in 44% of Sion’s league goal contributions.
The proposed move to the Turkish Super Lig has been given a 56% likelihood. Boteli joined Sion permanently from Borussia Monchengladbach II on 1 July for €3.5m and is under contract with the Swiss club until 30 June 2030.
His return to Sion followed a season in which he spent time away from the club before completing the permanent transfer. The striker’s current market value is listed at €5m, placing the reported interest in the context of a player who has quickly become a significant attacking contributor for his club.
Boteli previously finished as the leading scorer in the A-Junioren Bundesliga West in 2023-24, scoring 21 goals for Monchengladbach’s youth side. He has not yet made an appearance in the Swiss Cup this season, but remains a regular part of Sion’s European and league campaigns under his long-term contract.
