Galatasaray have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with advanced talks underway over a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old Nigerian forward, who has been on loan at the Turkish side this season, has impressed with his performances, winning the Turkish Cup and pushing Galatasaray to the brink of the league title.
His form has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, attracting interest from Premier League, Serie A, and Saudi Pro League clubs.
However, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Galatasaray are now in advanced negotiations with Napoli over a deal that would see them pay the €75 million buyout clause in Osimhen’s contract.
The clubs have reportedly agreed in principle to a payment structure that will involve three installments, smoothing the financial burden for the Turkish champions.
Osimhen, who joined Napoli in 2020 for a club-record fee from Lille, is also said to be in line for a lucrative contract worth €12 million per year if the transfer goes through.
Should the move be finalized, Galatasaray would beat out several high-profile rivals for Osimhen’s signature, marking a significant statement of intent from the Istanbul-based club as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
