Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to terminate Al-Qadsiah contract

Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to terminate Al-Qadsiah contract

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly on the verge of ending his time with Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah, less than a year after joining the club.

The Gabonese international, who arrived from French club Marseille last summer, has enjoyed an impressive spell in Saudi Arabia, scoring 21 goals and providing 3 assists across 36 appearances in all competitions.

Despite his strong performances on the pitch, negotiations are now underway for an early termination of his contract, which is set to run until June 2026.

According to reports from Saudi outlet Ariyadhiah, both Aubameyang and Al-Qadsiah are engaged in discussions aimed at reaching an amicable separation.

Talks are said to be progressing, with the former Arsenal and Barcelona forward seemingly prepared to walk away from a lucrative deal that saw him earn €10.4 million per year following his €9 million transfer.

Aubameyang’s potential departure comes as a surprise given his significant contribution during his time at the club.

His prolific scoring record played a crucial role in Al-Qadsiah’s campaign, and his presence had been seen as a cornerstone of their attacking line.

However, it appears the 35-year-old striker is now keen to explore new opportunities, with a return to European football a possibility.

Should the contract termination be finalised, Aubameyang would become a free agent, a status that would undoubtedly attract interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

His track record, which includes successful spells at Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Marseille, continues to make him a highly regarded figure in the transfer market.

The reasons behind this sudden shift remain undisclosed, but the mutual nature of the negotiations suggests both parties are seeking a resolution that serves their respective interests.

For Al-Qadsiah, releasing one of their highest earners could create financial flexibility, while for Aubameyang, it could signal a desire to return to more competitive football environments or simply seek a fresh challenge as he approaches the latter stages of his career.

Aubameyang’s brief stint in Saudi Arabia mirrors a wider trend of high-profile players moving to the Saudi Pro League in recent years, but his potential exit also highlights the transient nature of some of these moves.

Despite delivering on the pitch, the Gabonese forward now appears set to bring his chapter in the Middle East to an end.

As discussions continue between both sides, there is growing anticipation over Aubameyang’s next destination.

Whether it will be a return to one of Europe’s top five leagues or an entirely new venture remains to be seen.

What is certain, however, is that the experienced striker will not be short of offers once his contract situation is officially resolved.

For now, the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hangs in the balance, but his imminent departure from Al-Qadsiah seems increasingly likely as negotiations move towards a conclusion.
