Waleed Daabas, president of Modern Future Club, launched a scathing attack on the Football Association, the Clubs Association, and Amer Hussein, head of the Competitions Committee and member of both bodies.
Daabas, in his remarks to ETC channel, stated, “The Football Association took our coach to train the national team, and we didn’t receive any word of thanks.
We were not given the opportunity for the new coach to get acquainted with the team players, and they refused to postpone a match for us despite traveling to play on behalf of Egypt in the Confederation Cup.”
Regarding the recent crisis due to playing a team match against Smouha on February 29 after returning from a match against SuperSport United of South Africa and refusing to postpone the match, he said, “The three-day rule is not constitutional, and they must have some understanding because each travel trip is different from the other.”
Daabas further clarified, “Traveling to Sudan, for example, is very different from traveling to the end of Africa and traveling within the country again to move to the city where we will play the match.”
“Some travel trips in Africa require more than a day to return to Egypt and three days to recover from fatigue, but some members of the Clubs Association may have become accustomed to traveling by private planes and think that all teams travel like them,” he added.
He continued, “The Clubs Association is not a body that gives orders or dictates to the clubs, and Amer Hussein does not respond to Future Club’s calls.”
In conclusion, Daabas emphasized, “Amer Hussein must understand that he works for the good of the clubs, but he does not manage the clubs or give them orders.”
