Fulham are reportedly advancing negotiations to sign Cameroonian forward Danny Namaso from FC Porto as the Premier League side look to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The 24-year-old striker, who was born in Reading and began his football journey in England, has emerged as a key transfer target for the Cottagers. Sources close to the deal suggest Fulham have tabled a €5 million bid for Namaso, with discussions over a contract spanning three to five years already under way.

Despite a relatively modest campaign in Portugal’s top flight this season, where Namaso has registered three goals and one assist across 25 league appearances, Fulham’s interest highlights their intent to secure a forward with both European experience and potential for growth.

Namaso, who made the switch to FC Porto in the summer of 2022, has been gaining valuable minutes in a competitive environment.

His experience in the Portuguese Liga, renowned for nurturing attacking talent, adds weight to Fulham’s belief in his ability to make an impact in England’s top tier.

The financial aspect of the move is also reportedly appealing to the London club. According to football valuation website Transfermarkt, Namaso is currently priced at €4 million, making Fulham’s €5 million offer a realistic outlay by Premier League standards. The club sees the striker as a low-risk investment with room to develop into a more prolific contributor.

For Fulham, this transfer pursuit aligns with a broader strategic push to reinforce key positions ahead of the next campaign. The club is eager to add pace and depth to its attacking options and views Namaso as a profile that fits their requirements – young, athletic, and familiar with the demands of European competition.

While the deal is still in progress, optimism appears to be growing on all sides. FC Porto are reportedly open to the transfer, and Namaso himself is believed to be intrigued by the opportunity to return to English football – this time in the Premier League.

Fulham’s management, meanwhile, remains focused on their current season objectives. With a crucial fixture looming against Southampton on matchday 34 of the Premier League, the team is aiming to close the campaign strongly. A victory would offer a late boost in the standings and set a confident tone heading into pre-season.

Danny Namaso’s potential arrival may not be the blockbuster signing fans typically associate with summer windows, but it could represent a shrewd piece of business. If the move materialises, it would mark a homecoming of sorts for the Cameroonian international, bringing him back to familiar grounds with a chance to prove himself in one of the world’s most demanding leagues.

As transfer negotiations unfold, all eyes now turn to whether Fulham can finalise the deal and hand manager Marco Silva a promising new weapon in his attacking arsenal.
