Fulham are stepping up their bid to land Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk as they aim to fix their goal-scoring woes before the new season kicks off.
The Cottagers are looking to reinforce their frontline after a difficult campaign and believe Arokodare’s profile fits their ambitions perfectly.
The 6’4″ forward finished last season as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 17 goals, catching the attention of clubs across Europe. Valued at £15 million, the striker recently switched agencies to help smoothen a move to England.
Fulham have now opened talks with Genk as they look to beat off competition from Manchester United and AC Milan. Arokodare, who is known for his pace and sharp finishing, is eager to test himself in the Premier League.
With several Nigerian players already in the squad, Fulham believe the 24-year-old will settle quickly. Marco Silva is said to be a huge admirer of Arokodare’s strength and finishing ability, and sees him as key to Fulham’s push for European qualification.
