The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have congratulated RS Berkane on winning their first-ever Moroccan professional league title.
RS Berkane achieved the feast after a 1-1 draw Union Touarga on Saturday. Berkane’s draw against Ittihad Touarga gave the club a 15-point lead over giants like FAR.
The club celebrated at least 18 wins and six draws during the competition, allowing them to dominate and win the competition.
FRMF’s President Fouzi Lekjaa extended his congratulations on behalf of the federation and its board of directors.
“At the end of the 25th matchday of the Botola Pro INWI I, RSB strengthened its position at the top of the standings with 60 points, having won 18 matches, drawn 6, and lost 1, leading its closest competitor, AS FAR, by 15 points.”
CAF also celebrated the RS Berkane champions.
“Berkane’s remarkable campaign saw them register 18 wins, six draws, and just one defeat,” CAF said, pointing out the club’s consistency throughout the season.
“The achievement means Berkane will play in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League next season,” the African federation said, noting that the focus will now shift to how the club will finish the season.
The triumph will enable the RS Berkane to represent the North African country in next season’s CAF Champions League.
