The Egyptian Football Association confirmed the participation of the Pharaohs in the Winsunited friendly tournament hosted by the United Arab Emirates during the upcoming international break in March.
The federation indicated that Egypt would join the tournament alongside Croatia, the third-place team in the last World Cup, Tunisia, and New Zealand.
The tournament will follow a format of two semi-final matches, with the winners progressing to the final to determine the champion.
Meanwhile, the losing teams will face off in a match to decide the third and fourth positions.
A draw will take place later to determine the matchups.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for March 22, while the third-place playoff and final will be held on March 25 and March 26, respectively.
Both Tunisia and Egypt are gearing up for their participation in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, starting on January 13.
The friendly tournament will serve as preparation for Egypt and Tunisia, not only for the AFCON but also for the resumption of World Cup qualifiers in June.
Additionally, it will be a preparatory step for Croatia as they gear up for Euro 2024, scheduled for June.
Egypt faced Tunisia in a friendly match last September, which ended with Tunisia securing a 3-1 victory.
Egypt had previously encountered Croatia once in 1999 during a friendly tournament in Korea, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Notably, Egypt has not played against New Zealand at the senior national team level before.
