Zinédine Zidane, the former French international and 1998 World Cup champion, has developed a keen interest in coaching, and his dream includes leading the French national team in the future. Currently serving as the assistant coach under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Zidane has expressed his aspirations to become a head coach, with coaching the French national team being a part of his career plan.
In an interview with UAE media outlet Sport360, Zidane stated, “Being able to coach football is already a dream in itself. It has to be done. But my dream would be to be the coach of the French national team one day.”
While Zidane acknowledges that this isn’t an immediate goal and appreciates the current coaching staff, he sees coaching Les Bleus as a future aspiration. He emphasized his patience and the value of learning from his current role before stepping into the head coach position.
Zidane’s comments suggest a measured and deliberate approach to his coaching career, and he recognizes that his name may naturally be linked to coaching opportunities, especially when changes are possible in the French national team setup. If such a change occurs, Zidane’s dream of leading the French team could come to fruition sooner than later.
Previously, Zidane’s name was also mentioned among the candidates for the head coaching position at Galatasaray a few weeks ago.
