As expected, Bruno Bini will not fulfill his contract as the head of the French women’s football team. He has been replaced by Philippe Bergeroo, as announced by Noël Le Graët, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF).
Bini’s tenure faced a setback during Euro 2013, where France, despite being favored in the competition, was eliminated in the quarter-finals. Germany went on to secure its 6th consecutive victory in the tournament. With this outcome, Bini’s term at the helm of the French women’s team came to an end, spanning from 2007 to 2013.
Philippe Bergeroo, the newly appointed coach, previously served as an assistant to Aimé Jacquet during the 1998 World Cup. He later worked at PSG as an assistant to Arthur Jorge and briefly took charge of the first team during the 1998-1999 season. Bergeroo also had stints in Rennes before joining the FFF to oversee the youth teams.
