France National Team Returns to Training at Clairefontaine Ahead of World Cup
The French national team resumed their preparations for the 2014 World Cup with a training session at Clairefontaine on Friday, following a press conference attended by Blaise Matuidi, Rio Mavuba, and Loïc Perrin.
Out of the 24 players in the squad, four were engaged in separate training routines during this session. Eliaquim Mangala and Benoît Trémoulinas were seen undergoing special refresher sessions, while Patrice Evra and Alexandre Lacazette participated in individualized training. The French staff has not provided further details about their fitness levels.
Notably absent from the training camp were Karim Benzema and Raphaël Varane, who are currently preparing with Real Madrid for the Champions League final scheduled for Saturday evening. Their absence is due to their commitments with the Spanish club ahead of the prestigious match.
As the team gears up for the World Cup, these individual sessions indicate a focus on ensuring all players are in peak condition ahead of the tournament.
