France-born midfielder of Moroccan descent, Mattéo Guendouzi is backing Ousmane Dembélé to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
The Lazio midfielder believes that the PSG star is a credible candidate for the top award due to his current form.
“What he is doing makes him a credible candidate for the Ballon d’Or. He has always had the potential to do that. He is one of the best players in the world, even without the goals, top three at the moment, but he’s adding statistics. He is just confirming what we have thought for a long time. There are plenty of players that are starting to be scared of him,” Guendouzi told the press.
He was speaking to the press ahead of France’s first-leg meeting with Croatia in the quarter-finals of the Uefa Nations League.
This season, Ousmane Dembélé has displayed impressive form at PSG in not just the French Ligue 1 but in the Uefa Champions League as well.
He has scored 22 goals in just 17 appearances in 2025.
