France-born defender of Ivorian descent, Wesley Fofana, has been ruled out of action for the rest of the 2024/25 football season.
According to information gathered from sources, the Chelsea defender has suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out until the end of the current campaign.
The development is a major blow for Chelsea as the team pushes for Champions League qualification and silverware in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Wesley Fofana, 24, has endured a challenging career marred by recurring injuries. Across his spells with AS Saint-Étienne, Leicester City, and now Chelsea, the centre-back has missed a total of 912 days due to injury. This season alone, he has already sat out 18 matches for the Blues.
He will now focus on rehabilitation at the club’s Cobham training facility, working closely with Chelsea’s medical team over the coming weeks.
He will hope that he will be lucky to stay fit next season to establish himself as one of the best young defenders in Europe.
