Oumar Camara has officially signed with Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães, ending his time with Paris Saint-Germain after opting not to accept a professional contract from the French club.
The 18-year-old forward, a product of PSG’s youth academy and a France youth international, joins the sixth-placed Liga Portugal side ahead of the 2025/26 season. His transfer was confirmed in a statement released by Vitória Guimarães, who announced that Camara had penned a four-year deal with the club, running through to 2029.
“Oumar Camara, a young player developed at Paris Saint-Germain and part of the French national youth setup, is now one of Vitória Sport Clube’s options for the 2025/26 season,” the club said in its official release.
“The 18-year-old Parisian, born in 2007, signed a contract valid until 2029 in the presence of president António Miguel Cardoso.”
Camara’s decision to leave the French capital comes after a strong campaign with PSG’s Under-19 squad, where he scored 12 goals in 18 appearances. The teenager had reportedly been offered professional terms by the Ligue 1 champions but chose instead to pursue first-team football abroad, seeking new challenges and opportunities in Portugal.
Vitória Guimarães were quick to highlight Camara’s qualities, describing the forward as a versatile and technically gifted attacking talent. In their announcement, the club praised his potential and mentality, stating: “Known for his versatility across the front line and his attacking instincts, Oumar Camara also stands out for his leadership qualities. He is eager to embrace the challenge of adapting to a new country and stepping into senior professional football.”
Camara’s arrival is part of Vitória’s continued strategy of investing in emerging talent capable of contributing both immediately and in the long term.
The club has built a strong reputation in recent seasons for offering a platform to young players and integrating them into a competitive first-team environment.
The move marks a significant step in Camara’s development as he transitions from youth football in France to a senior role in Portugal’s top division. For the player, the switch represents both a personal and professional milestone—his first contract with a senior club, and his first time playing abroad.
At Guimarães, Camara will be joining a side with European ambitions and a track record of developing talent in a competitive setting. The club finished sixth in the most recent Primeira Liga campaign, securing a place in the qualifying rounds for UEFA club competition. For Camara, it provides an ideal stage to showcase his ability at the senior level and continue his growth against experienced professionals.
With the deal now complete, all eyes will be on how quickly the French forward can adapt to his new surroundings. His performances at youth level suggest a player with the technical ability and temperament to make the leap, and Vitória Guimarães will be hoping that his arrival adds further depth and dynamism to their attacking ranks.
As he begins this new chapter, Oumar Camara leaves behind PSG’s academy system with the goal of establishing himself in European football. The coming season in Portugal will offer the young striker both the challenge and the opportunity to make his mark on the professional stage.
