French giants, AS Monaco, are reportedly preparing to cut ties with France international of Guinean descent, Paul Pogba, with the club’s hierarchy growing increasingly frustrated by the midfielder’s lack of impact since his arrival.
The Principality outfit has already made the decision to move on from the 32-year-old Frenchman, citing his unsatisfactory performances and minimal contribution over the course of the season.
The French outfit are said to see little justification in continuing to pay the wages of a player who has featured for less than 30 minutes across half a campaign.
Despite Pogba being under contract until summer 2027, the Ligue 1 side are actively exploring options to offload the midfielder as soon as possible, viewing his situation as unsustainable from both a sporting and financial perspective.
The former World Cup winner is currently sidelined after suffering a shinbone injury during a match against Rennes, further compounding his struggles to establish himself within the squad.
Pogba joined Monaco in the summer of 2025, attempting to restart his career following a lengthy doping suspension. However, his return to competitive football has fallen well short of expectations. Persistent fitness issues and a lack of match sharpness have prevented him from rediscovering the form that once made him one of Europe’s most influential midfielders.
Since joining the club, the former Manchester United star has made just three appearances for Monaco, with his total time on the pitch failing to exceed 30 minutes, a stark statistic that underlines the scale of his difficulties.
As Monaco look to refocus their project and streamline their squad, Pogba’s future at the club now appears increasingly uncertain, with his once-promising comeback facing another major setback.
