Christopher Nkunku is reportedly considering a move away from Stamford Bridge after a challenging season marked by limited playing time and inconsistent form.
The 27-year-old French international, who is of Congolese descent, has struggled to secure a regular spot under manager Enzo Maresca, leading to speculation about his future at the club.
Nkunku’s exclusion from the squad in Chelsea’s recent 2-1 victory over Fulham, attributed to a “technical decision” by Maresca, has intensified discussions about his role in the team.
Despite being fully fit, Nkunku has found opportunities scarce, starting only nine Premier League matches this season and contributing 14 goals and five assists across all competitions.
Reports suggest that Nkunku is open to exploring options elsewhere, with both Manchester United and Bayern Munich expressing interest in the forward.
Chelsea, however, have set a valuation of approximately £65 million for Nkunku, which could be a stumbling block for potential suitors.
The club is also reportedly considering a swap deal involving Bayern’s young talent Mathys Tel, who is on loan at Tottenham.
Nkunku’s tenure at Chelsea began with high expectations following his £52 million transfer from RB Leipzig in 2023.
A promising pre-season was derailed by a knee injury that sidelined him for over four months.
Upon his return, Nkunku showed flashes of his potential but struggled to regain consistent form, partly due to recurring injuries and tactical adjustments under Maresca’s leadership.
