France-born defender of Cameroonian descent, Sacha Boey, is part of the Bayern Munich squad that will be competing at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
According to club Sporting Director Max Eberl, the club is delighted to have the defender in their squad despite his uncertain future.
“Every player has a chance in every game. We have Konni (Laimer) at right back, of course, as well as Stani (Stanisic) and Sacha. That’s actually a lot for one position. Now Sacha is here, and now he’ll play for us,” Max Eberl said.
Despite this, the Bayern Munich Sporting Director is not ruling out the departure of Sacha Boey or any of the other right-backs this summer.
He insists that the club will decide on the future of the three full-backs at the end of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
“After that, we’ll see what the future holds, because that’s when we’ll be able to properly finalize our squad planning. But three right-backs is a luxury,” he said.
According to several reports, talks are far advanced between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich for the signing of Sacha Boey.
Negotiations are likely to be completed after the Club World Cup.
