France international of Angolan descent Eduardo Camavinga has apologized to Real Madrid fans following his red card incident against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.
Camavinga was in action when his outfit succumbed to an emphatic 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the first leg of the quarterfinals, held at the Emirate stadium on Tuesday night
Unfortunately, Camavinga had to be sent off in the dying moments of the match against Arsenal after receiving a second yellow card, ruling him out of the second leg.
The first yellow card would have ruled Camavinga out of the match at Santiago Bernabéu due to accumulated yellow cards, but the French player confirmed his absence with the red card.
Camavinga received his first yellow card in the 69th minute, before receiving a second in the 90+4th minute.
However, the midfielder has taken to social media to express his regret about the red card incident while apologizing to the club fans.
“To all the Madridistas… My emotions got the better of me at the end of the game, and for that I want to apologize.” He wrote on Instagram.
“We must keep believing, and we will need you in the second leg… All together! Until the end! Viva Madrid!”
It is noteworthy that the second leg will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium next Wednesday, noting that the winner will face the winner of the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa in the semi-finals.
