French-Angolan defender Castello Lukeba still on the radar of Real Madrid
France-born defender of Angolan descent, Castello Lukeba, is reportedly still a transfer target of Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants were linked with a possible move to sign the versatile defender last summer, but did not make a formal approach.
With Los Blancos preparing for the next summer window, the club has reportedly included RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba on their list of potential defensive targets for next summer, which also includes William Saliba and Ibrahima Konaté.
With Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba expected to leave at the end of the season, Madrid are eager to bolster their backline.
However, Saliba appears unlikely after committing to a new deal with Arsenal, while Konaté’s expiring Liverpool contract makes him an attractive option.
Lukeba, regarded as one of the Bundesliga’s brightest defensive prospects, has a release clause of around €90 million.
The highly-rated French talent is admired for his composure on the ball, precise passing, and strong defensive awareness.
