Karim Benzema has been crowned the 2024–25 Saudi Pro League Player of the Season, capping a stellar campaign with champions Al-Ittihad.
The French striker was officially recognised on Wednesday, following the season’s conclusion earlier in the week, after scoring 21 goals and assisting nine more to help secure the club’s league triumph.
Benzema, whose roots trace to Algeria through his parents, played a pivotal role in Al-Ittihad’s title-winning charge.
The veteran forward combined his clinical finishing with creative leadership in the attacking third, proving instrumental in Laurent Blanc’s setup.
His performances were decisive as Al-Ittihad secured the championship with two games to spare.
The league also recognised several other standout performers. Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari was named Best Saudi Player, following a career-best season in which he registered 15 goals and 15 assists.
Despite his side finishing second, Al-Dawsari’s consistency and versatility earned widespread acclaim.
Cristiano Ronaldo retained the Golden Boot after topping the scoring charts for a second successive year, netting 25 goals for Al-Nassr.
While his team fell short in the title race, the Portuguese forward’s goal-scoring form remained unmatched across the division.
Al-Ittihad’s success under French manager Laurent Blanc was further underlined as he was awarded Best Coach.
The former France international oversaw a composed, tactical campaign that delivered the league title in convincing fashion.
Among the emerging talents, Al-Shabab midfielder Musab Al-Juwair was recognised as Young Player of the Year.
The 21-year-old was a consistent performer throughout the season, contributing five goals and ten assists across 31 appearances.
Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq’s Marek Rodak took home the Goalkeeper of the Season award following an exceptional year between the posts.
Winners were selected through a voting process involving coaches and captains (40% each), media (15%), and fans (5%).
