France forward of Algerian descent, Rayan Cherki, is reportedly fancying a move to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The youngster, whose current contract with Olympique Lyon runs until 2026, has confirmed that he will leave the club this summer.
According to BILD, Lyon’s majority owner, John Textor, is demanding a hefty €40 million transfer fee for the in-demand attacker.
The figure is considered far too high by Borussia Dortmund who are among the favourites to sign the talented forward.
During the winter transfer window, an internal agreement reportedly set Cherki’s valuation at around €22.5 million, making Textor’s new asking price a significant deviation from previous expectations.
Sources suggest that Textor remains hesitant about allowing Cherki to make the switch to Germany.
However, the player, Rayan Cherki, is interested in moving to Germany and wants to sign for Borussia Dortmund.
It is now up to Dortmund to push to reach an agreement with Lyon to make the deal happen.
