Elye Wahi took a significant step forward in his Eintracht Frankfurt journey by joining full team training on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old forward had been working individually due to lingering thigh issues but is now integrating with his new squad.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller previously hinted that Wahi could make the matchday squad for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach. However, given his limited training time with the team, he is unlikely to be in the starting lineup just yet.
The €26 million signing penned a five-and-a-half-year deal with Frankfurt, marking a new chapter in his career after moving to Germany.
Wahi has already made his mark at the youth international level for France. He earned a cap for the U17s in a 1–1 draw against Italy in December 2019. In September 2022, he received his first call-up to the France U21 squad under Sylvain Ripoll and quickly made an impact, netting his debut goal against Belgium in his second appearance.
