German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly demanding a fee of around 100 million euros for in-demand France striker of Cameroonian descent, Hugo Ekitiké.
According to Sky, the Bundesliga club recently turned down an €80 million bid from Newcastle United due to unsatisfactory payment terms.
While negotiations remain ongoing, Frankfurt are reportedly standing firm on its asking price.
It is understood that the club’s decision to demand more money is influenced by a clause that would see 20% of any future transfer fee paid to Ekitiké’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain.
Newcastle, according to The Athletic, are currently only prepared to offer around €75 million.
Despite the valuation gap, the Magpies remain determined to land the 22-year-old striker.
Ekitike is believed to have agreed personal terms with Newcastle United and is open to the move this summer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also looking at poaching the striker from Frankfurt this summer.
