Former Chelsea and France defender Frank Leboeuf has expressed his confidence in Liam Rosenior’s potential to become one of the world’s top head coaches following the Englishman’s appointment at Stamford Bridge.
Rosenior, 41, officially joined the Blues on Tuesday with a six-and-a-half-year contract running until 2032, tasked with stabilizing a side that has seen four permanent managers since BlueCo’s takeover in 2022.
Rosenior brings a rich footballing heritage to the role, as the son of former Sierra Leone international Leroy Rosenior.
Despite being relatively unknown on the global stage, Leboeuf praised Rosenior’s tactical acumen and leadership style.
“Liam Rosenior has all the tools to become one of the best coaches in the world. It’s funny because he doesn’t look like a coach but when he talks, he’s like a philosopher, he’s like a teacher. I love his calmness and his way of thinking about football,” Leboeuf said.
“He’s going to be a great coach for sure with what he does with young players. He did great at Strasbourg, and happy for him.”
Rosenior now faces the immediate challenge of turning around Chelsea’s fortunes.
