Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised the commitment and work ethic of forward Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante, despite his team’s 2-1 defeat to Norwich City.
Following the loss, Lampard highlighted Thomas-Asante’s significant contribution to the team’s performance, commending his efforts both on and off the ball.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian international, who has been a key figure for Coventry this season, played the full 90 minutes, marking his 27th appearance for the club in the current campaign.
Lampard emphasized the forward’s solid work ethic and his ability to hold up play, vital elements in his role within the team.
I thought Brandon worked tirelessly off the ball,” Lampard said, acknowledging the forward’s continuous effort throughout the game.
His hold-up play was excellent and he did his job to help the team,” he added, expressing satisfaction with Thomas-Asante’s individual performance despite the disappointing result.
Thomas-Asante, who made the move to Coventry City from West Bromwich Albion, has established himself as a regular starter since his arrival.
His consistent appearances reflect his importance to the team’s attacking options.
Although the loss to Norwich was a setback for Coventry City, Lampard urged his squad to remain positive and resilient.
It’s a tough result to swallow, but we have to take it on the chin,” Lampard remarked.
We have to accept it and move forward. We’ll bounce back and continue to improve.
The defeat leaves Coventry City in 16th place in the 24-team league, with 26 games played.
Lampard, who took over as manager earlier in the season after Mark Robbins’ departure, is focused on guiding the team to better performances as the campaign progresses.
Despite the setback, Lampard’s belief in his players’ ability to recover remains firm, with Thomas-Asante continuing to play an integral role in their efforts.
