François Oman-Biyik, who arrived in April as the head coach for Gomido de Kpalimé in the Togolese championship, left the club without providing any explanation. After several weeks of anticipation for his return, it became clear that he would not be returning to Gomido.
Oman-Biyik has since taken up a coaching position in Gabon, leading US Bitam, the reigning champions of the country. In an interview with cameroonvoice.com, he discussed his experience in Togo and the reasons behind his departure.
He cited organizational challenges and a lack of support for his coaching ideas as the main reasons for his decision to leave. Despite having a good relationship with the club president, Oman-Biyik felt that his proposals for team organization were not being respected. He was initially hired to be both the coach and team manager, but the on-the-ground reality did not align with those expectations. Despite the challenges, he emphasized that he has good memories with club officials, players, and others he encountered during his time in Togo.
