Désiré Doué, the talented young forward, has expressed his ambition to claim the prestigious 2025 Golden Boy award, which recognizes the best under-21 player in European football.
The rising star recently made his debut for France in the Nations League Final Four, coming on in the second half against Croatia and successfully converting a penalty in the shootout.
When asked about his aspirations for the Golden Boy award, Doué acknowledged its significance but emphasized that his primary focus remains on performing well for his club.
“Golden Boy? I’m aware of it, but that’s it. It comes through hard work. The most important thing is to finish the season well with my club,” he stated in the mixed zone following France’s victory over Croatia.
The Golden Boy award, organized by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, has previously been won by several French stars, including Paul Pogba (2013), Anthony Martial (2015), and Kylian Mbappé (2017).
Doué, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, hopes to follow in their footsteps and cement his status as one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
