Kassoum Ouattara’s time at AS Monaco is approaching a critical juncture, with the young left-back’s future at the club hanging in the balance as transfer interest from across Europe intensifies.

The 20-year-old Franco-Ivorian defender, who joined Monaco from Amiens in 2023, has struggled to break into the first-team plans of head coach Adi Hütter.

His lack of playing time, particularly during the second half of last season where he scarcely featured, has fuelled speculation that his stay in the principality could be short-lived.

Despite his limited minutes, Ouattara’s potential has not gone unnoticed.

Reports from Foot Mercato indicate that Torino have expressed a concrete interest in acquiring the promising full-back.

The Italian club is not alone, with Celtic, Rangers, Augsburg, PSV Eindhoven, Toulouse, and Metz also making inquiries into his availability.

Monaco, for their part, are reportedly open to parting ways with Ouattara—but only through a permanent transfer.

The club invested €2 million to bring him in from Amiens, and with his contract running until June 2028, they are keen to secure a profitable deal, with his current market value standing at €7 million according to Transfermarkt.

The player himself is said to be weighing his options carefully.

A move that guarantees regular playing time is paramount, as Ouattara seeks to relaunch a career that has stalled in Monaco’s crowded defensive ranks.

The upcoming weeks could therefore be decisive, with discussions ongoing between his representatives and interested clubs.

Ouattara’s annual salary of €400,000 (approximately 260 million FCFA) is unlikely to pose an obstacle for potential suitors, many of whom see his versatility and attacking intent from the left flank as valuable assets.

For Monaco, the situation is a balancing act between securing a good financial return on a player who has yet to make his mark and avoiding losing a talent who could flourish elsewhere.

For Ouattara, the next step must be one that propels his career forward, offering him the platform to fulfill the promise that saw him rise through the ranks at Amiens.

As the transfer window progresses, his future remains one of the most intriguing sagas in the Principality.
