Ange Caumenan N’Guessan has spoken for the first time since sealing a loan switch from Torino to Slovan Liberec, describing the move as a pivotal opportunity to advance his career and gain the consistency he has been seeking.
The 21-year-old Franco-Ivorian centre-back was officially unveiled by the Czech club following the completion of a loan deal that runs until June 2026 and includes an option to buy.
Although he remains under contract with Torino until 2027, N’Guessan made clear his focus is fully on the challenge ahead in the Czech First League.
“This is a real opportunity,” N’Guessan stated, speaking with notable clarity about his intentions. “I need regular playing time and challenges. Liberec is giving me this chance and I will do everything I can to establish myself here.”
A product of Torino’s reserve side, N’Guessan views his departure as a crucial step in his development and was quick to reject any suggestion that his arrival in the Czech Republic is anything other than serious.
“I’m not arriving as a tourist,” he stressed. “My goal is to take a step forward, progress in all areas, and show that I’m ready for the highest level.”
Despite operating outside Europe’s top leagues, N’Guessan sees the Czech championship as a fertile ground to sharpen his skills and build his resilience.
“I know this championship gets less media exposure, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy,” he said. “There’s real intensity here, a work ethic, and plenty of opportunities for those who want to work. That’s what I came looking for.”
The young defender, who is currently valued at €300,000 by Transfermarkt, has been identified as a player with significant potential. His ability to adapt quickly to new environments and maintain consistency will be closely watched over the course of his stay in Liberec.
N’Guessan spoke of his long-term goals with a sense of purpose and measured ambition, indicating that every match will serve as a crucial building block.
“I want to come out of this adventure stronger, to be better in six months, in a year. Each match will be a step towards this goal.”
While the loan move offers him the platform to grow, the option to buy included in the agreement suggests that Slovan Liberec are open to the possibility of making the move permanent if N’Guessan proves himself over the next two seasons.
As he begins this new chapter away from Italy, N’Guessan will be hoping to transform this loan spell into a breakthrough moment — one that not only redefines his path but affirms his readiness for elite-level football.
