France international of DR Congo descent Tanguy Ndombélé is expected to leave OGC Nice heading into the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old midfielder joined the French Ligue 1 outfit last summer, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until summer 2026.
Ndombélé was limited to 18 appearances in the French Ligue, scoring just a goal and delivering two assists across the period.
Despite having a running contract, Ndombélé, who spent the second half of the season on the sidelines due to hernia issue is set for Nice departure.
The French are increasingly growing frustrated as a result of the midfielder’s persistent injury issues towards the end of the campaign
“If I could be sure that he could be 100% operational for a season, I wouldn’t ask the question, but that isn’t the case,” said Haise, who added that he didn’t know whether Ndombélé would still be at the club come the start of next season.
Nice have secured qualification to the UEFA Champions League next season and will require a competitive squad to make an impact.
Ndombélé has featured for a host of clubs in Europe including Tottenham Hotspurs, Galatasaray, Lyon, Amiens and others.
