Franco-Cameroonian urgently hospitalized in the USA

France international of Cameroonian descent Kylian Mbappe is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the United States of America (USA).

Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid last summer missed his outfit opening game at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup tournament due to an infection. In the absence of the highly-profiled attacker, the Spanish giants settled for a 1-1 draw with Al Hilal on Thursday.

The 26-year-old was in isolation in his hotel room to avoid infecting team members before he was rushed to a hospital due to acute gastroenteritis.

Currently, information about his recovery remains unknown, which is a major concern for both fans and the Real Madrid coaching staff.

Gastroenteritis is an inflammatory disease of the stomach and small intestine caused by infections and bacteria such as E. coli and others.

Mbappe’s performance overshadowed the club struggles in the just ended campaign, where Madrid endured a trophyless run.

The forward racked up 43 goals across competitions for Real Madrid in his debut campaign.
