Franck Kessié will miss Al-Ahli Saudi’s AFC Elite League match against Al-Sadd due to a persistent lower back injury.
The Ivorian midfielder, who was also absent for Al-Ahli’s recent Saudi Pro League match against Al-Orobah, has not recovered in time for the Monday, February 3, 2025, game.
Kessié underwent medical tests on Sunday, February 2, confirming his unavailability.
Despite his absence, Al-Ahli has already secured qualification for the round of 16, with the club joint-leaders in the Western group.
Since joining in 2023 from FC Barcelona, Kessié has been an essential player, contributing 12 goals and 8 assists in 57 appearances.
However, despite his efforts, Al-Ahli has yet to claim silverware, finishing third in the league last season and exiting the King’s Cup early this year.
