Francis Uzoho transfer: Karmiotissa link emerges for Omonia goalkeeper

Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, currently at Omonia Nicosia, has been linked with a move to Cyprus League rivals Karmiotissa.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been with Omonia since September 2021, when he joined from APOEL Nicosia on a free transfer. He has since won two Cypriot Cups with the club and helped Omonia claim the Cypriot championship in the 2025-26 season.

Uzoho has yet to feature for Omonia in the new campaign, including their Champions League and Europa League qualifying matches. The Nigeria international remains part of a squad preparing for domestic and European commitments, while Karmiotissa have emerged as a potential destination within Cyprus.

Born in Nwangele, Uzoho began his senior career in Spain with Deportivo La Coruna before spending loan spells at Elche and Anorthosis. He returned to Cyprus permanently in 2021 after a season at APOEL and has remained there since.

Uzoho represented Nigeria at the 2023-24 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles finished runners-up. He was also part of Nigeria’s Under-17 side that won the 2013 Under-17 World Cup.

Any move to Karmiotissa would involve an Omonia player whose contract is due to expire on 31 May 2027.
