Francis Chima joins Al-Kawkab as Nigeria striker leaves Al-Saqer

Nigeria striker Francis Chima has joined Al-Kawkab from Al-Saqer on a free transfer, completing a move between two Saudi Arabian clubs.

The 23-year-old forward made the switch on 15 August 2026 and has signed a contract with Al-Kawkab running until 30 June 2027. Chima’s arrival gives the club a centre-forward who has already gained experience in football in the region.

Chima spent the 2025-26 season with Al-Saqer, who compete in the Saudi First Division League. His move to Al-Kawkab brings that spell to an end after one year at the club.

Before joining Al-Saqer, Chima had been playing outside the recorded Saudi club pathway, with his arrival at the side confirmed on 5 August 2025. He now begins the next stage of his career with Al-Kawkab under an agreement that will keep him at the club for the remainder of the 2026-27 season.

The striker was born on 24 December 2002 and represents Nigeria. His listed position is striker, placing him at the focal point of Al-Kawkab’s attack following his free transfer.

Chima’s competitive record includes one appearance in the Egypt Cup, where he played 15 minutes. That is the only recorded appearance in the available competition record, and his move to Al-Kawkab provides a fresh setting for the Nigerian forward.

The transfer was completed without a fee, with Chima leaving Al-Saqer and joining Al-Kawkab on 15 August. The deal links him to the Saudi club through June 2027.
