Zinedine Zidane and Claude Makélélé have solidified their positions as coaches by successfully obtaining the Football Coaching Diploma (DEF) recently. However, they are eager to expand their coaching horizons and are now aiming to obtain the Elite Professional Football Coach Diploma (DEPF), which would allow them to coach beyond the CFA level. To achieve this, they are seeking special arrangements and relief from the French Football Federation (FFF).
According to reports from France Football, Zidane and Makélélé are hoping for a shortened and less intense course for the DEPF, which typically requires two years of training. Alongside Willy Sagnol, who is supporting their efforts, the former footballers are scheduled to meet with Noël Le Graët, the president of the FFF, to discuss their request.
In a recent interview with L’Equipe Magazine, Zidane expressed his commitment to coaching and his aspirations for the future. He emphasized his desire to repay the trust and support he has received from figures like Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez at Real Madrid, where he currently serves as an assistant coach. Zidane highlighted his competitive nature and his determination to succeed in coaching, reflecting his deep passion for the sport.
