France winger Moussa Diaby has signed for Bayer Leverkusen from Al-Ittihad in a €30m transfer, returning to the Bundesliga club on a contract running until 30 June 2031.

The 27-year-old right winger completed the move on 1 September 2026 after two seasons in the Saudi Pro League. Diaby made one league appearance for Al-Ittihad this season and also featured in the AFC Champions League Elite qualifying round, providing two assists in a 65-minute appearance.

Diaby previously played for Leverkusen between 2019 and 2023, making the German club his destination after leaving Paris St-Germain in a €15m transfer. He then joined Aston Villa for €55m before moving to Al-Ittihad in July 2024 for €60m.

The left-footed attacker has now returned to a club where he spent four seasons. His honours include the French title and French Super Cup with Paris St-Germain in 2018-19, while he was also part of Leverkusen’s German Cup finalist side in 2019-20.

Diaby has represented France and won the UEFA Nations League in 2021. He also has a French-Malian background and was born in Paris.

His latest move takes him back to the Bundesliga after his spells in England and Saudi Arabia, with Leverkusen paying €30m for the transfer. Diaby is now under contract with the German club until the end of June 2031.
