The story between Youssouf Hadji and AS Nancy Lorraine is far from finished, with discussions ongoing about a potential return for the Moroccan midfielder. Club president Jacques Rousselot revealed on Monday that the two sides are negotiating behind the scenes, with the aim of reaching a financial agreement.
Rousselot expressed his desire to bring Hadji back, stating, “I’m going to meet him this week and if we can agree on a financial deal, he’s a pure product of the house. He should really be a support player, he’s a locker room player, he’s the big brother, someone who is respected and who truly embodies all the values of ASNL.”
Hadji previously enjoyed two stints at Nancy, first from 1998 to 2003, and again from 2007 to 2011, scoring 57 goals in 255 appearances. The 35-year-old has been without a club since leaving Turkish side Elazigspor in February. If the deal is completed, his return would bring valuable experience and leadership to the squad.
