Former French midfielder Emmanuel Petit has reacted to Kylian Mbappe’s struggles at Real Madrid.

Mbappe missed a penalty when Real Madrid succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions on Wednesday.

The French-Cameroonian pacey forward’s recent performance has sparked concerns among football fanatics.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Petit said, “I think I was really bewitched. I believe in these things, you don’t believe in them. I say that because I accept it.

“I believe in that, there are quite a few things I believe in. Westerners don’t believe in it, it’s not in their culture, we are very Cartesian. I believe in that.”

“When you talk to me about Kylian Mbappé, this idea always comes to mind. I have the impression that if an organ falls from the Moon, there are several billion of us on Earth. Right now, it is Kylian Mbappé who is taking it away.”

Despite his struggles, the France skipper has managed to rack up 9 goals in 18 appearances across competitions for Real Madrid.
