One of the standout moments of his club career, Bonaventure Kalou cherishes his time at AJ Auxerre, where he played between 2003 and 2005. In an interview with L’Equipe, the former midfielder fondly recalled certain experiences with the Burgundians, particularly one incident involving their coach, Guy Roux.
“My biggest laugh? The first time I saw Guy Roux taking a shower with us. When he stepped in, I thought to myself, ‘This can’t be happening, he’s not really going to do it.’ But he did… I couldn’t believe it. It was quite a sight. He showed no hesitation. For me, it felt like imagining my father showering alongside me. But eventually, you just get used to it,” shared Salomon’s brother, with a smile.
